I think I am a very lucky “feminist” woman,
Raised in the sixties, in a time when women learned to change our own destiny
In a time that women grabbed our freedom, instead of begging men for it
In a time we started to realise that we need no longer depending on men for anything
That we had sexual freedom, with all that that entailed
That we could step away from the power that men, fathers, husbands, boyfriends, brothers, even cousins supposedly had over us
And now sixty years later, that freedom is no longer our freedom, because due to mass immigration, shifting people from one continent to another and intenser Religions taking over, we women seem to go back into time.
Instead of teaching newcomers about our inbred freedom,
we have allowed them to curtail ours!
To regress our femaile freedom, for fear of being hurt, scolded or even raped.
We bow once more to the male supremacy, instead of fighting back..
But, are we women really this fearful?
Instead of honouring our freedom,
we have merely adapted to new restricting rules!
Some who brought us back to the Middle ages,
most who brought us back to the early fifties
No more sexual freedom, unless you dare to walk the plank to an abortion clinic
Being screamed and insulted by the same sexe who might have raped you in the first place
Or by the indoctrinated and ignorant simpletons, who know no better, till it happens to them
That we let men decide about our bodies and the life within it, no matter how we conceived that life, old silly disguided men, trying to reinstate their power over our sexe.
How dare they and why did we let them?
And now those Bold Brave Iranian Women,
under the suppresion of this intense form of Religious fanatism,
are daring to bare their hair, throwing off their scarves!
And we are not talking about some disguided silly females
We are talking about women braver than their counterparts being Queens, Presidents, Prime Ministers… who while visiting adapted to local laws…
Those who dare to say NO! to this over the top religious rules,
who have little or nothing to do with the original religious scription,
but were amended by powerhungry men, by losers, by scum who seemingly have this Brotherhood needing to keep us women asunder!
Any person who have met middle Eastern men abroad, realises immediately that they have lived part of their educative lives in (more) modern societies, that they have experienced living in an equal society between the women and men.
So how come, that when all those men go back to their own country, they automatically adapt themselves to these archaic pathetic rules, whereby women are surpressed to the limit and have no voice whatsoever!
While they can move freely about, switching whenever it is convenient, do realise that this is a “male only” rule.
Because if their sisters, mothers, cousins or god forbid their wives would want to walk around anywhere, they need to do it under some dark robe, preferably with face covering, only to be discarded within a safe environment.
So while all those women might have Chanel clothes and Fred’s jewellery, they are as much prisoners of their system without the possibility of reprieve…
And still they are the supposedly trophies of their families, because if men within their family rape and pillage, they smile and excuse the rages of youth and cover them up quickly.
BUT if women as much as look at another man, smile or even exchanges a few words, the chance that she will get drowned in their own pool by her (modernly educated) brother(s) is a huge possibilty!
So I am calling out to all those modernly educated men, I am challenging you to be part of this shift and change,
To dare and be brave on behalf of your female relatives and friends
To no longer accept your own archaic rules, but to be a positive part of this change which was started by those incredibly BRAVE IRANIAN WOMEN!
To dare and stand up to protect them, not by surpressing them,
but by showing that your education abroad
Which taught you that the female mind is as good if not braver than most males…
But due to this surpressing system, you helped to install and kept alive, these women suffer as those English ladies over a century ago in Britain.
And reading the above sentence, you might realise how far you have gotten behind times.
A whole century ago, one hundred years wherein you supressed women thus,
that taking off your scarf is enough to be raped, beaten, whipped and/or even killed for.
You might be rich and mighty, but in my eyes you are pathetic, lazy and dillusional thinking that you are in controll, you are not, because these ladies taking off their scarves, have shown you that!
In your face!
So now let us watch when and where among all those men, some gems will rise, who dare to stand among the females and will try to protect them, in order to get a more equal society.
I am with you in thought and in word, ladies and I am so incredibly proud to be a woman, even more due to your action of daringly taking off your scarves!
I also hope that other females, even in modern countries will take them off, to show their support with the Ladies in Iran.
Perhaps the non scarf wearing ladies should wear scarves around their neck, hanging loosely without trying to cover anything up as a sign that we are supporting them!
I know I will wear a scarf on my clohes this whole week, however unappropiate it might look.
