Twenty years ago, I went with Eric to South Africa for a couple of months because he would be teaching there at different universities about inherentance law.
My husband went on the condition that I would accompany him and I would do so if I could take my kids. Thank goodness I have the most fabulous mother in law, who understood that if I went along with the kids I would need support for the kids, so she came too….
We had someone to live in our house temporarly, everything was set for a fabulous time which it did become, because South Africans are the most lovely people you will ever meet, white, black, brown alike, all lovely people.
Mandela had just retired and Thabo Mbeki: “our travelling President” was in charge and South Africa was already going down the drain.
It is an utter sad situation when Politicians bring their own country to to heel, because once you go down that road, it can barely be stopped.
Where in the past, us Europeans looked at Africa as a whole and realised it was strangling itself, I wonder if any Politician in my Europe is realising that we are going down that same road and at even a higher speed than they did/do.
My country is not my country anymore and the weird thing is that if I talk to people from neighbouring countries and even their neighbouring countries, they are all saying the same!
THIS IS NOT MY COUNTRY ANYMORE!
Our countries are run by Politicians who are are brilliantly looking out for themselves, but not for the people who voted them in. They are not taking care of their nation but are one and all looking for opportunities to better themselves.
Perhaps in the history of men there was a time that leaders were leaders at their own cost and peril, sadly those kind of leaders are few and far between or in such a position that the highest they could ever aim for is the leadership of their party!
You will noticed that they are being thought as extreme winged, so they are being mussled thus that they have not got a hope in hell to ever come antwhere near ruling a country.
Because The Establishment just will not allow it and somehow The Establishment has become so mighty powerful, sneakily creeping in without us noticing that now they do whatever they want to have done.
And now I see the same thing being done, like I saw twenty years ago in South Africa, people who are clever enough leaving the country where they cannot in all honesty make any kind of difference or profit.
Where in SA literally loads of graduates left, resulting in a huge braindrain still felt in present times, they were quickly followed by skilled people who could easily move to other (read safer) parts of the world, where the grass was still growing and where they could get on with their lives once more!
And now you see the same thing in Europe, countries with no less than three and in Belgium even four parlements to pay for. And endlessly so!
Where in Bruxelles and in Strassbourg there are fabulous buildings continually renovated to, as far as I am concerned filled with complete nincompoops, having not a reasonable sound thought in their head, talking about everything while not fixing anything, for which this “Parlement” was ever erected!
Rules in different countries are still grossly different, anything as basic as electricity plugs are still hugely divers from their surrounding countries, they have not even managed anything that simple feat in fifty years.
But in fact they have (almost) managed to destroy food markets, in order to defend their own products. They are there at huge costs while filling their pockets with even higher wages for them than the ones we pay out for our so called leaders of the country.
And help the rich get richer by making loops in the taxlaw, which have to be paid up by normal working people like you and me.
So they get richer and we stay poorer, and thus the object has been archieved!
We are getting the worst level of education ever, because we are forced, much like cattle, to suit all the existing systems, another thing the European parlement couldn’t change.
And for goodness sake do not run too much or too far, because we will punish you and talk you down till you come finally to our level!
You cannot earn more than a certain amount per annum, otherwise your salary will be halved due to taxes, but at the same time, we open doors to huge companies and/or rockbands to establish themselves here at little or no costs at all in taxes, which is why a hardworking man has his salary halved by that same government.
And again, anyone with a skill and/or a brain gets the hell out and why would you not, run while you still can and saveguard your future as good as you can!
I think that Europe is at this point, there is no future to be had anymore in The Netherlands in any case, unless we overthrow this government, kick them out, and do the same with the European philanderers moving every month, from one place to the other at huge costs, which should be poured back in the country.
Perhaps we it is time to start a revolution, there is a big enought cause, that of our kids and grandchildren
I say: lets walk!
