Bubbles and BearI am walking my dogs next to the campingground, where they have created a gated corridor, the other side is a gated railwayline, so it is  perfectly safe for dogs, I am together with my friend just returned after having been home,  hers is a small pommeranian and mine are a small chow and mix sharpei who are utterly socially adapted and love other dogs! I am utterly proud of them.

The sun is shining, it is becoming warm, the dogs are enjoying themselves and we are exchanging information about the goings on in our respective lives!

Opposite way comes a guy on a electric folding bike with a very large dog, who is obviously stronger than its owner, because it pulls its owner in semi flight of the bike. We just see the aftermath, the owner on the floor, the dog seems to want to meet my dogs with a lot of enthusiasm…

Surprise must be written on our faces, it is quite a spectacle and I try to call one of my dogs back, because it is on its way to meet the giant..

The owner gets quite agressive when mine who just keeps walking determinedly towards this dog!

Bubbles She likes big dogs is utterly frearless and also knows exactly which are vicious, after which she immediately ignores them, she does not get into fights, she just walks away!

But this one is obvious not in the vicious class, because she keeps walking towards it!

I was just thinking of telling the fallen owner that she is incredibly friendly, when that man starts to get agressive, his big lease is folded like a whip and he is ready to defend, with whatever means necessary and throws me all kind of profanities..

I let myself be (even more) surprised and warn him in no uncertain language that he better keeps his leash and his shoes to himself. I swear to myself that I need an ffing translator because he is German and in these moments my German is hopelessly inadequate!

At the same time realising I have to deal with this on my own.

So I start politely stating that it is not my fault that he has a dog that can thrown him of his bike and that he must be an inadequate biker for him to get to this stage, meanwhile my dog has already walked away, safe in the realisation that I am better equipped to deal with this situation.

The guy is furious, “my dog(s) should be on the line”, I tell him nicely that I have been coming here daily and barely ever seen an attached dog over here.

He gets even more furious, he has been living here 20 years and I have no clue blah blah blah…

I almost feel sorry for him, he has a dog which he has not got under control, but is silly enough to put it next to a bike, his wife probably warned him not to do it and now he is half buried under his bike holding on for dear life to his dog…

I smile sweetly to him, and tell him that perhaps he ought to take more bike lessons seeing that he falls off at the first pull if his dog, so according to me,  he has no busines being on a bike with a dog who is far too big for him!

He is furious and shouts insults to us, I just respond calmly that in my world any 4 year old could bike better than he does!

My friend laughs, she has changed nationalities but is originally also Dutch, so she knows,!

“I felt like punching him”, she says, “I was ready to smash him”, I laugh once more, she speaks almost perfect German and when angry, she really gives you hell, I have seen her in action a few times, so again he has a lucky escape.

Bear ar Fuseta strandI turn once more around and tell him again that he should really improve his biking skills, before he takes a dog along and we leash our respective dogs on the line, because we have come to the end of the lane.

The last I saw of him was him moaning to someone within the campingground gate, I hope that person made soothing sounds for him to cool down!

Germans on bikes being unreasonable agressive, brings out the worst in Dutchies, something to do with the war, them stealing our bikes and never returning them.

I wish you a good day
