Today I have an appointment with my camper Repair guy, because I have a leakage somewhere and I do not know where….
Already a few days it smells rather awful but I cannot find the reason wny and it irritates me like hell!
Mondaynight Tokyo had to go and see someone in Amsterdam so he took off latish afternoon and that for me is always an opportunity to sort some things out, so I opened up one of the front floor cabinets and got the things out. It was quite disgusting because all my paper handkerchiefs were blotted with water, it had also ruined two books I really wanted to read, but had not yet felt like it.
Well whatever, it was too late now because they were sodden with stinking water….. and then having taken everything out the smell became omnipresent and however much cloth I pushed against it, it kept soaking wet!
I stepped back and almost turned to total panic, where what how?.
Thankfully, help was near, a lovely gentleman , a technician saw my despair and like a real gentleman came over and offered his help…
I explained as good as I could, and showed him all the water just behind the driverseat…
No problem he said! I have a hoover which also hoovers up water, oh my hero!!
Believe it or not he hoovered at least 2,5 liter water up and it smelled revolting, meanwhile I whatsupped my repairman with my running commentary, ending with: Can you please help?
The next morning I gave additional info and more about the horrible smell…. And around 08;30 he told me he would call me when he came to the shed! Prompt a bit after 9;00 he called me, I was almost in tears, thinking I would have to leave my camper etc etc. “And pls when would you have any time for me, I know you are very busy….” He looked in his planning, heard my silent pleas and told me to come on wednesday after 10:30, I will have at little bit over half an hour for you…
I was almost in tears due to thankfullness and I promised I WOULD BE THERE!
I had to drive from Landgraaf all the way back from beyond into the real world, while Tokyo had decided that sleeping at Uitgeest would be best convenient to him coming back.
Expecting to be on my own, I was flabbergasted to see the whole fairground family already settled there, will I stay, will they send me away or could I sleep just outside the corrall, being absolutely safe from drunken sods, which are rampant on the North Holland Fair…
I took the last option, I like kermismensen, fairground people, one of my great aunts was married with one and he was a lovely man as was she, so these people are almost family, right?
Got my sedgway out (electric step/scooter) and drove over to Mimosa who as far as I am concerned still has the best Italian food/pizzas there is. Got my pizzas and drove back and quickly plunged the thing back in the garage.
Eating nice food on your own is not all that bad, especially when you know that Tokyo is really hungry on his way home 😉
Ignoring the nearby engine running all the electra, we feel easily asleep waking up around 8 am,
I have learned in my camper that I can take two minute showers and if I forgot to put the heating on, I can even bear them cold…
Rushed out to walk the dogs while asking Tokyo to get out and pls make breakfast, walking the dogs took a bit longer so by the time I came finally back we had to leave quickly!
We arrived within the hour and about 30 min to early and lo and behold the guy was already locking everything in order to leave…
So we quickly emptied a log of places to make it possible for my repairguy to determine where the leaking started… “oh and by the by, something is also leaking near the sink, because one of the plastic containers for my cutlery is loaded with water..
Hmmm he went and looked and found my leakage…
I had a few extra requests which he dealt with and I could be on my way again…
As some of you know I had bought a lovely dress for my gorgeous granddaughter so I called my son and asked if we could have a coffee some place around the corner where I could put my camper.
Your granddaughter sleeps, I am sorry, but I will meet you, see you in 30?
Funny how some how you seem to care more about your grandchildren than you will about your kids, probably because you invested so many hours in them and now they are adults and my grandchildren are still very small..
20 minutes later I get a call back, granddaughter is awake, so they will all come and I feell incredibly rich!
Can I bore you with all the things she can already do at just 13 months, I better not, you will get soo jealous…
We walked to the toystore and behind the counter was one of our ex-clients, lovely woman, so I introduced my family, looking probably very proud!
Later I got a message: lovely surprise to see you!
And tonight we are very near to the Zaanse Schans, we have just finished a walk around t Kalf where I lived the first two and a half years on a boat.
It has been quite a day!
I hope you enjoyed my story
Have a great one
