Friday was a slow day, I had to finish quite a few chores whom I left far too long, so I did some washing, dishwashing, bought some tubes in order to improve my kitchen, silly things that had to be done, but are utterly boring..
My plan was to go to a big store in order to buy a cupboard for the front tent in order to hide some of the stuff laying about while I also had to wait for the electrician to change the waterpump for my kitchen, who could only come at 5 pm…
So than I decided to go afterwards, because that store did not closed till late evening and I also had to pick up my electic bikes battery which short circuited a while ago… which was on the way to the store.
The electrician came, did the job, after which we got into the car to get to Faro in time to pick the battery up at 7pm. We had loads of time to spare and happily with battery in hand we returned to the car to travel onto Loulé for the last bit of shopping: getting a nice cupboard. We parked and started to walk through the store in order to find the right stufff while accumulating some bits extra here and there..
We got the cupboards and loaded them in the car and started to drive back to Olhao. It never stops to amaze me at the speed, most cars will come past you. Surprising also that there are not more accidents.
Back we came, past Faro almost at our destination, we had a blowout on the front right tyre and it was rather frightening. Althought the car kept really steady, the pull on the wheel became quite intense. I drove on a little bit so not to stand in the dark, I have seen too many accidents, so I put my car under the lights.
My friend told me that if there was a spare, she could absolutely changed the tyre, unfortunately seeing as we were standing on a downwards ramp, we could not take the risk changing the tyre there and risking running off the jack going forward, so we drove very, very slowly down the ramp, onto another road, where I knew there was a space to park the car.
We called a cab which fortunately came to this desolate place within 6 minutes and bring us home in one piece.
The gate at the Campismo was already closed, so we felt like naughty girls having been out on the tiles, asking the the guy to let us in.
We have an appointment to meet up again in a couple of hours, she will have a better jack than the one found in the car and hopefully we can get home safely with all the stuff still inside!,
Never a dull moment…..
